1| Cute Valentine Snack

Here's an easy idea for a classroom activity and a snack in one! This is what you need to have your students create these yummy love monsters snacks.

  • Strawberry Applesauce
  • Googly eyes
  • Pom poms for the nose and the top of the antennae.
  • Pipe cleaners for the antennae.
  • Heart stickers for the feet!

2 | Cookie Decorating

Decorating Cookies is always a fun classroom activity that kids love. You can purchase premade unfrosted heart-shaped cookies or circle cookies at your local grocery store bakery. Then bring frosting in a variety of colors, sprinkles and other toppings and let the kids get creative.

3 | Valentines Day Bingo

Bingo is a great game for your class party, especially a cute Valentine’s Day themed one like this one that you can find on Amazon here.  Students would love if you gave them small pieces of candy for the markers.

4 | Valentines Dice Game

Here's a simple game that students will have a lot of fun with.  Have student break into groups of 5 or 6.  Place a small pile of candy on the table in front of the students and give each student 5 pieces of candy to start.  Students take turns rolling the dice and do the following with each roll:

  1. Take 1 candy and give one compliment.
  2. Take 2 pieces of candy and share one.
  3. Skip your turn.
  4. Give one piece of candy from the pile to another.
  5. Give one of your candies to another.
  6. Everyone gets a candy!

5 | Pin the Heart on the LLama

Here's a simple game idea that you can add to your classroom Valentine's Day party.  Instead of pinning the tail on the donkey have students pin the heart on the llama.

11 | Compliments Jar Activity

Love this idea for compliments jars! First each student creates a blank jar with their name on it, on a sheet of paper. Then have each student randomly draw 5 student’s names and think of a compliment for each one and put it on a little heart.

Next, these hearts will be glued on to that person’s jar. You can have your students sign the compliment, so the recipient knows where it is coming from too.

12| Valentine Math Activity

A simple way to get into the Valentine's Day spirit in math class is to write the math problems on heart balloons.  Then give students heart papers to write their answers on.

13 | Heart Sensory Activity

Younger kids will love this fun sensory painting activity. First you draw a heart directly onto a plastic Ziploc sandwich bag with a permanent marker.

Next you add some paint to the inside of the bag and have your students move the paint around to color the heart. They'll love the feeling under their fingers and teacher bonus, no mess!

15 | Count and Cover Activity

Count and cover is a fun learning game for younger students.  You can have them trace the numbers that they find to work on those fine motor skills too.  To give it a Valentine's Day theme provide the students with candy hearts, candy lips or foam roses to cover the numbers!

The learning does not have to stop in the classroom.  Send a letter home to parents with ideas to strengthen math and literacy skills with their Valentines Day cards.  Here are some ideas to include in the letter:

Here's a cute and easy Valentine craft that is perfect for practicing fine motor skills. Start with toilet paper tubes, then cover with yellow construction paper and then have kids cut out the stripes and antennae with construction paper.

Glue everything on and then add little hearts and faces to create an adorable love bug.
