After winter break is the perfect time to celebrate the New Year with your students. So why not create a New Year classroom door. Check out some creative ideas to copy below.
1 | Poppin into the New Year
Here’s a great way to get students excited about the New Year! Copy this door idea and write either poppin into the new year or let’s make the new year pop! Then add a giant bag of popcorn with student names on the kernels!
2 | Let’s Shine in 2025
Copy this idea, let’s shine in the new year by adding disco balls with your student’s names on them.
3 | We’re Bursting into the New Year
Add colorful balloons all over your classroom door, with bulletin board letters that say we’re bursting into a New Year.
4 | Open the Door to 2025
You can combine this classroom door décor with a New Year classroom activity. Have students color and then write their goals for the new year on the own door and use those for decorations.
5 | Time to Turn Over a New Leaf in 2025
To create this door first, have your students decorate paper leaves in winter colors like frosty blues, silver and white. Then they can write a new year’s resolution of the leaf. Add them to your door with the quote, “Time to turn over a new leaf in the new year!”

Martin Luther King Day Classroom Door Ideas
MLK day is the third Monday in January. Creating a Martin Luther Kind Jr door would be the perfect way to inspire your students and celebrate the holiday. Check out some ideas below to do just that.

If you want to copy this classroom door idea have students each, write about a dream that they have for a better world in thought bubbles. Add student pictures alongside the bubbles. You can also add inspirational words like freedom, equality, and peace.
8 | Be the Change You Wish to See
Here’s a classroom door idea to celebrate diversity and making a difference like Martin Luther King Jr did. Have student each decorate their own handprint and on it write how ideas of how they can bring positive change. Then in bulletin board letters spell, “Be the Change You Wish to See.”
