Minute to Win it Winter Themed Games Classroom

15 | Minute to Win It Snowball Toss

  • Materials: Plastic buckets, white ping pong balls, crumpled paper or cotton balls.
  • Objective: Students toss as many “snowballs” into the buckets as they can within a minute.
  • Variation: Use different bucket distances for varying points.

16 | Frosty the Snowman Stack

  • Materials: Large marshmallows
  • Objective: Stack as many marshmallows as possible to build a snowman within a minute.
  • Challenge: Make the snowman stand without tipping!

17 | Candy Cane Pickup

  • Materials: Candy canes, a bowl, a second empty bowl.
  • Objective: Use a candy cane to hook and transfer other candy canes from one bowl to another. No hands allowed! Whoever has the most candy canes in their bowl at the end wins.

18 | Minute-to-Win-It Snow Shovel Relay

  • Materials: Cotton balls, a spoon.
  • Objective: Using a spoon as a shovel, transport “snowballs” from one bowl to another without dropping them.
  • Variation: Use chopsticks for an extra challenge.

  • Materials: White pom-poms or cotton balls, straws, a flat surface.
  • Objective: Use a straw to blow “snowflakes” across the table into a designated target.

25 | Build a Snowman Relay

  • Setup: Provide materials like white balloons, scarves, hats, and tape.
  • How to Play: Divide students into teams. Each team races to “build” their snowman using the materials.

28 | Holiday Musical Chairs

  • Setup: Play the classic musical chairs but with Christmas songs. Have less chairs then students.
  • How to Play: When the Christmas music stops students have to find a chair. Those without a chair are out. Keep removing chairs until there’s only 1 winner.

29 | Bundle Up Relay

  • Setup: Students will get into groups. Have a pile of winter outerwear items like a coats, hats, mittens, and scarfs for each group. Each group will have the same number of items.
  • To Play: Students have to race and put on one winter item at a time and then race back and tag a teammate. Keep racing until all of the winter items are on! The first team to complete this wins.
