The first thing to do when you make the decision to organize your linen closet is plan your design. First, assess how many towels, sheets, and other items that you want to fit in this closet. This is the time to get rid of or donate what you no longer need.
Next, consider what you need to access the most often and be sure to plan a spot for those items on easy to reach shelves. Be mindful of large or heavy items that might work best on lower shelves. You don’t want to grab a huge heavy basket off the top shelf.
At this point you can start to plan how many containers or baskets you’ll need to corral all the stuff. Check out these gorgeous closets below to get some ideas.

The number one thing in our closets to organize is towels. There are tons of different options for folding and storing them. You can fold them in half, thirds, quarters or roll them.
It often looks best to do a mix of several different options. You’ll want to experiment to find the best folds for the space you have. Check out some different fold options in these pretty closets below to get you started on making the most of your linen closet organization.

Might as well take some lessons in folding towels from Joanna Gaines herself! She uses the trifold method. When you do this the edges of the towel are not visible and are not sticking out at all.
To do this you just fold your towel into thirds vertically and then fold them horizontally again in thirds as well.

Another pro tip is to add interest to the linen closet by varying which way the towels face.
